The Brief
A company planning its 20th anniversary wanted a gift that people would keep on their desk, not throw in a drawer. Each set had to carry an individual number and the company logo, and arrive ready to hand out.
The Challenge
- Brass and steel parts had to fit together without visible gaps.
- Each of the 500 sets needed a unique number from 001 to 500.
- The delivery date was fixed by the anniversary event.
What We Did
We designed the desk sculpture as two interlocking parts, machined from solid brass and stainless steel. A small change to the joint design removed the need for glue and made assembly faster.
Serial numbers and logos were laser engraved after finishing so the marks stay crisp. We also designed a foam-lined box with a printed sleeve, so the sets shipped ready to give.
The Result
- 500 numbered sets delivered 6 days before the event.
- Zero missing or duplicated serial numbers.
- The client reordered 200 sets for new staff the following quarter.
